Service Project

Students in grades 6-12 take part in Christian Service projects during the school year. Students and parents are asked to pray during the month of September about the particular giftings of the student and choose service opportunites in which the student can participate that will benefit others and allow the student to experience the joy of serving. Guidelines for the project are as follows:

1. All service projects will be based on the principle in Mark 10:45 which states, "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many." Simply stated, the type of service that you will do will involve giving of your time and talents.

2. The MCA Christian Service Project Coordinator will approve all student projects prior to the beginning of service. Service projects cannot be done for immediate family members, and students cannot receive payment for any service provided to others.

3. A minimum of two hours per month is required beginning in October and ending in January. (Though the minimum service expectation is eight hours over four months, we have students who serve hundreds of hours each year in their chosen areas of service.)

4. Monthly reports must be turned in to the MCA Christian Service Project Coordinator from October to January. The projects will be celebrated in February in a special chapel service.
