Our Mission
At Mooresville Christian Academy our mission is to provide Christ-centered grammar and secondary academic instruction to partner with parents in their charge to train and educate their children. We aim to equip students with a Biblical worldview and the academic tools they need to become leaders in the Kingdom of God in this generation.

2009-2010
Frank Albert has been making music since childhood. A classically-trained violist, he has performed in symphonies and ensembles throughout the Mid-Atlantic. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, "Mr. Frank" has maintained his own studio of private students and since 1996 has had a successful teaching business with Musicare, offering group music classes in preschools and daycare centers. In 2003, Mr. Frank earned certification in Level I of Orff-Schulwerk, a progressive teaching approach for elementary music instruction. In 2008, Frank created the orchestra program at MCA, along with All Strings Attached, his violin-family string instrument rentals and sales business. A member of Riverlife Fellowship, Frank is an avid worship leader and performer. He lives with his wife, Lucy, and their three sons. We are blessed to have had Frank and his family with us at MCA since 2003!

Matthew Bollinger has been a teacher at MCA since 1999. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Matthew has taught high school history classes at MCA, as well as the Understanding the Times course required of all seniors prior to graduation. He has also been the youth pastor at River Life Fellowship, and is currently serving there as the Associate Pastor. Matthew and his wife, Sarah, live in Mooresville with their four boys, and a baby girl. He is truly a passionate communicator whom we are blessed to have at MCA and serving his ninth year.

Lindsay Cordell joined us in January, 2006 from California where she graduated from the Life Bible College, West Coast location. She is married to Jake Cordell and has 1 son named Jack and is expecting a daughter in March. She serves in the administration as the financial officer. It is a blessing to have her on staff.

Patty Crabtree Patty has been teaching at M.C.A. for three years. She brings a love of children and a heart for meeting each child's individual needs. Patty has a B.A. from Converse College in Spartanburg, S.C. She also has 65 hours of Orton Gillingham training. Patty's classroom is a fun-filled, multi-sensory learning experience. She is willing to do whatever it takes for each child to progress.

Rusty Hansen Rusty is a graduate of the University of Hawaii, with a Bachlor in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Christian Education, Regent University, (Currently enrolled and working towards). She has her NC State License, K-8 and ACSI Certification.
Rusty feels honored to have been called by God to this ministry and is excited to partner with the parents in the education of their children. Rusty is a dedicated teacher with experience in public, private, Christian and home school enviorments. Her love for Jesus Christ and gift of teaching comes alive in the classroom as she invests in each student to reach their maximum potential.
Rusty and her husband, Harold, are 30 year residents in Mooresville. They have four grown children and seven grandchildren. They are active members of Life Fellowship in Davidson, NC.

Anne Harkness is an alumnus of the Maryland Institute College of Art and a member of Riverlife Fellowship. She was an art director in New York City for fifteen years, however, she is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina. Anne is Orton Gillingham, Audiblox, and ACSI certified, teaching and tutoring for over eight years. She uses both programs at MCA. The Harkness family lives in Mooresville.

Stephanie Mattiace Stephanie Mattiace attended Zion Bible Institute and Berean School of the Bible. She married her husband Frank in (what year?), and they have four children. Stephanie home schooled for twenty years, teaching kindergarten through twelfth grade. She and Frank co-founded and led L.E.A.H. (Loving Education at Home) in addition to leading a number of Christian groups for both children and adults. A native of New York, Stephanie and her family relocated to the Charlotte area in 2004 and attend Grace Covenant Church in Cornelius.

Katrina Maloney is back at MCA for her fourth year as an elementary teacher who recently graduated from the Grace School of Ministry at Grace Covenant Church, Cornelius, NC. She attended Valley Forge Christian College and graduated from Fairmont State College, Fairmont, West Virginia. She and husband Jim have been married for nineteen years and have a son and daughter. Katrina loves to share her musical gifts with others. We are blessed to have her on staff.

Tommy McCraw Serves as Assistant Principal and Math Teacher at M.C.A.
A graduate of Appalachian State University he is a retired intermediate school teacher with over 29 years of experience with the public schools. Tommy is the past chairman of MCA's School Board and has been involved with our school since its beginning. He has worked fulltime with MCA since the summer of 2007. Along with his wife, Libby, he serves on the school's board of directors. It is his goal in serving at Mooresville Christian Academy to see children develop a strong relationship with Christ and excel in our academic environment.

Marlin Mogusu was born in Nairobi, Kenya, but has lived in the United States since he was 18 years old. He is a graduate of Kings College, TN with a bachelor's degree in biology. "The Lord has shown me a lot about Him through being a math teacher. Now, the teaching has become a ministry. I love how the Lord uses me to tell students about Him." Marlin is a pastor at River Life Fellowship, our affiliate church. He and his wife, Mary live in Mooresville with their son and two daughters. God has truly blessed us with this multi-gifted educator.

Janet Moore is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in journalism and is a member of River Life Fellowship. She has taught both adults and children, as well as college-aged students. Janet started this school and has served it in many capacities and begins her twelth year as a teacher and principal. She says, "I love to be in the classroom because I love to encourage young people to love the Lord with all their minds and hearts. It is a joy to experience God as we study His word and His world." Janet and her husband, Chuck, have three grown children and eleven beautiful grandchildren. Janet has been a blessing to the students and is a truly gifted communicator. We are so thankful for her dedication and faithfulness to the students at MCA.

Andrew Stein Andrew is a first year teacher at Mooresville Christian Academy, he comes from a background in missions and has a love for teaching. Andrew brings his passion for language and learning to this school. A Backelor degree in English, Professional Writing and a Minor in Spanish served Andrew while abroad where he taught ESL in multinational corporations. Now back in the United States, Andrew's hope is to aid our youth on their path of education and to instill a desire for greater things in this life for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Andrew, his wife Pamela, and their son Josias absolutely love the children at MCA and love being a part of such a great family.
